Internet Liars: Peter Youngren comments

The Internet has become a haven for anonymous liars, who operate without accountability. The lies about myself, our church and ministries are too many to itemize. To list them would dignify that which is inherently evil. Grant it, a few statements are by people, who probably have good intentions, but they are just as ignorant and untrue nevertheless. Others make serious lies, which rise to the level of defamation. The worst lies are half- truths; facts are twisted and motivations are imagined.

I do not know who the people are that attack our ministry. Some deceptively pretend to be current or past staff members. Other engage in conversations with themselves, making an entry under one name, only to comment on their own entry under a different name, making it seem there is a big interest in their ideas. Blatant lies by anonymous writers can go unchallenged for years.

I am writing this because people ask me why I don’t respond. To me, it is just so unscriptural to respond to anonymous accusers. When the sons of Korah accused Moses, or when Shimei taunted and mocked David we know the names of those accusers. Moses and David were willing to meet their accusers; that’s my attitude, and the attitude of any man of God.

The only exception to the above anonymity is a pastor of a small church in Europe. I know who he is, and he writes under many different headlines and names. This man has dedicated himself to spread lies. I have tried to speak with him, but to no avail. It is so sad to see a man once on fire for Jesus become obsessed, trying to vindicate himself, by attacking others.

I have many faults and failures, just like everyone else, including the great heroes of the Bible and of Church history. God’s grace has enabled me to be transparent about those flaws before my church and before spiritual friends, like our partners. But you won’t see me share my heart in cesspool of mudslinging on Christian blog sites. Jesus said something about where you share your pearls.

This lying spirit is not new; it has always been at work against the Gospel, through evil rumors, distortions and false accusations. Jesus was accused of being a deceiver (John 7:12), and possessed by Beelzebub, the devil. Paul didn’t fare any better. He was called a “plague”, a “creator of dissension”, and “a ringleader” (Acts 24:5).

Earlier this year veteran broadcaster, David Mainse, spoke on television about bloggers that lie, “You get on the blogs and the blogs are always lies. Half truths are lies. One of the reasons that gossip, backbiting, is in the same list in the Scripture as murder and adultery … because if you don’t have all the facts—this is why you have editorial controls where there are checks and balances. That’s why an editorial board is in a newspaper. Checks and balances. But on the blogs—I treat a blog just like I treat the rags that are at the checkout counter at the grocery store. I don’t read them. I refuse to read them. They are half-truths. They have not been well researched. The have no editorial control. There are no checks or balances on these, so they are not reliable.” Amen to that.

In one way I am encouraged when I see liars so active in and around our ministry. I know the one, who is really interested that our ministry would suffer setback and loss, the devil. 

Meanwhile Grace Television is reaching people, and in the next 9 weeks we have 3 mega Gospel Campaigns that will reach hundreds of thousands with the Gospel.

Dear Pastor Peter,
Many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord God would deliver them from it all. Jesus said to His disciples that they too would surely be persecuted. I know He said to them to be glad and rejoice when they are persecuted. I will say the same to you. I fully know how terrible it is to be accused falsely especially by those you work so very hard to help. God is our vindicator. Take comfort in the fact that the devil sees you as an enemy and not a friend. I do not know what was said but well meaning people would through God’s grace know the truth and instead of these accusers plan to draw people away from you, people would instead be drawn to Christ through you.
What can I say? Those that are with you are more than those against you.
Remain blessed and may the Almighty God deal favorably and kindly with you, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Matthew 12:36-37:  I tell you, on the day of judgment men will render account for every careless word they utter; for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.

This is precisely true.  Preceding His justification or condemnation, each man will give an account of every word.  Ten or twenty billion people giving a word-by-word account of every word they ever spoke would take trillions of years by our way of reckoning time, yet God says each one of us (II Cor. 5:10 and Romans 14:10-12), whether justified or condemned by our words, will give that word-by-word account.

What comfort!  I don’t have to justify my words in any human or Internet court of opinion!  And why should an amateur like me even try, knowing the Lord of Glory, who knows every detail of everything, will so precisely and completely do it all!
And what power comes from Him creating us anew in His image, speaking all kinds of good and great things into existence just like He did!
He spoke and created worlds!
He speaks through us and redeems worlds of people!

Every tribe!
Every tongue!
Every people!
Every nation!

Proof:  Look at His words spoken through Peter!
You have the same Speaker speaking through you!
What words do you want to speak?  How about cutting it down to just the ones you want to give account of to Him on Accounts Day?

May our Father who art in Heaven Bless you for the work you are doing.Do not be detracted by these maliicious,spiteful comments on te internet.I havent not seen them myself but there is only one source of these things and that is the liar and father of all lies the devil using these poor souls.Let us pray for them. Lets go forward in our ever beckoning Hope which is in Christ Jesus.
You are winner. Remember God declares and makes it come to pass. Who so ever believes has conquered all, including these devil inspired blogs. I agree Peter.  I have not heard any of those about your ministry, however, I often look at comments on articles, blogs etc.  They are unreal, evil, and mean more often than not.  I guess having the aninimity gives them the gumption to be so evil.  Some of things they say on the internet, they wouldn’t dare say to someone’s face.  This is wrong!!!

I fully agree and support Peter’s concerns on blogging.

I know Peter personally and admire his courage and vision. I have watched him closely over the last decade and find him an exceptionally talented Man of God. Without mincing words, all of us who are in various ministries should realize that leaders who are in public light are ‘sitting ducks’ for mischief makers and tale bearers. It is a pity that some of this technological advances such as blogging and twittering are misused by a few. 99% truth + 1% half baked truth is a complete lie and we know that from Genesis 1 and we also know the source and author.
So my sincere request to such bloggers is follow the Instructions and guidelines of the Holy Scriptures: Phil 4:8 ” Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”.  I would add - ‘blog or twitter about such things’. I am sure Paul would have written this if he were living in our midst and re-writing Phil 4:8.
Also heed the scriptures of Mathew 12:36: But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. I would add ‘every blog they have written or twitted (if there is is such a word!).

Dear Pastor,
Very well said. :) Today blogs are full of non-sense, with baseless charges about the preacher of Truth… I have come across many about Pastor Benny Hinn and others. Earlier I read, but now I don’t give a damn. Jesus himself said, “A tree is know by its fruit”
“...Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” Mat 7:15-20.

So, to me what matters first is fruits. :) Fruits are the good works for which we were and are created. Eph 2:10
And good works are our action and we know that action speaks louder than the voice.

By the way, you are coming to city for a great crusade. I have already attended your meetings in Morris Cerullo School Of Ministry, Hyderabad,  and once also in Shillong, Meghalaya and now we are waiting for your meeting in Guwahati, Assam, India.

Indeed Abba has given Pastor Peter the wisdom to ignore those liars.
Who cares what they say. We are only concern of what Jesus says of us- that we are righteous by faith of Jesus’s finished work on the cross.

Pastor Peter, do not be distracted by satan’s imps.  So-called ministers of the gospel do not realize that they are ‘cutting the same branch that they are sitting on’ so to speak. Someone/some people must do that job. They meet the criteria and bram, they’re hired by satan. When you get a chance read Phil:1 verses 15-17 and Hebrews 12 (1-3).  You must keep focus, satan wants to see you crash and himself and others are standing by ready to laugh, but you must say like Nehemiah, I am doing a Great Work, so that I cannot come down….....

I too have heard remarks about you Peter and wondered and I said that even if they were true you are human and as we all are -prone to error in judgement from time to time.

Christians should focus on a positive side. World Impact Ministries is reaching many places on the planet. We should rejoice for that, honor people involved, pray for them . Everybody knows it’s not everybody who can go in Pakistan, Nigeria,....

The bible states that when you see a brother in sin (fault) you which are spiritual restore such a one. Well, Pastor Peter, I guess no one is confessing spirituality.
It also says you who are sin free cast the first stone. There seems to be a lot of people confessing to be sinless, yet no spirituality. This just doesn’t seem to add up.
You have my prayers!  But for the grace of God there go I.

Couldn’t agree more with Pastor Peter.  I have known Pastor Peter for over 15 years and can vouch for his integrity and honesty, which is why I am a partner in his ministry.  He is truly a man of God and I for one, won’t even waste a moment of my precious time to read the mudslinging and malicious comments made against him and his ministry.  Let the Lord deal with these evil people and reward them according to the fruit of their works and doings.

I believe we are living in the last days, or bordering on the last days. During this time many will rise up in brutal attacks against the message of the gospel, and also anyone trying to spread the message of the gospel. This attacks come in many forms. Some on large scale such as wars, or massacres. Arresting individuals for practicing Christianity. Or on smaller scales such as discrimination just cause someone is a Christian, or these senseless comments that we see online on blogs such as this that try to slander ones reputation just because of the fact they are a believer. God’s word says that the Lord uses all things good and bad for his will. His will can only be good. So when any of us face persecutions on any scale just for the sole fact we are believers, then we must praise God! We are not of this world, but of Heaven. Our home is not here, so in this world we will face opposition. We must hold on to our faith, and persevere.

Peter, stay strong in your faith, and keep doing what you’re doing.
There is a whole world out there that needs Christ, and all of us as Christians need to get out there and show them who Jesus is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello, I like what David Mainse said, backbiting and gossip are looked upon the same way murder and adultery are, 2 of the Ten Commandments. I am a young Christian and if I’m to witness for the Lord, I want to keep my nose very clean! If I don’t, those I witness to will “eat me for breakfast”, and all my witnessing is for nothing. I’m not perfect, but no human is and I want to present myself as good as I can be. Give people no reason to lie about you. We’ll set examples of ourselves, fitting to the task! No more can be asked!
